Opinion Spot : (Early) October Meta Game

OCG Land are now free from Dragun and Zexal...

Yu-Gi-Oh! Metagame

Shaddoll

After the announcement of the October 2020 banlist, with powerful cards such as Dragun, Zexal, and Girsu are now banned, it is quite predicted that the meta will not change much except for Orcust being dropped from the top 4. As mentioned before, Shaddoll and Zoodiac will be the top contender. Surprisingly, Dogmatika Invoked is now also out of the list. Perhaps, Nadir Servant being semi-limited is the cause, though no change happened to their core, both for Invoked and Dogmatika. Also, even without Zexal, Eldlich still proves being a top deck with their ‘helmet’ strategy or combined with Dogmatika.

Invoked

Prank-Kids

Prank-Kids and Datascape seems to be the dark horse for this format. Prank-Kids Meow-Meow enabling all Prank-Kids' effect, making them easier to extend the play, either summoning a Link 2 Monsters, or Fusion Summoning any of Prank-Kids Fusion Monster. Also, they can be combined with Thunder Dragon, since Prank-Kids Fansies, Battle Butler and Doodle Doo are Thunder monsters.

Book of Moon

Dimensional Barrier

The change of the banlist, also changes the cards that is currently used to counter the meta. Book of Moon used to counter decks such as Zoodiac, Shaddoll, and Thunder Dragon if going second, while Dimensional Barrier is used to counter these decks when going 1st. Also, in any case you meet Eldlich or Anti-Meta/Stun Decks, choose Red-Reboot to prevent your combo from being disrupted. Or if you rather to cripple your opponent's board, use Evenly Matched instead. With Shaddolls everywhere, Anti-Spell Fragrance and Imperial Order are a must-include cards to side against it.
